Mrs Kinime Igbokwe is a Nigerian born fashion designer who is popularly known her design name, LA KIMMY.
Kinime Igbokwe embraced her creative prowess, love for fashion and extreme attention for detail at a very tender age.
Growing up watching her designer mum create beautiful outfits for friends and family, she learnt the basics of pattern drafting, tailoring skills and intricate hand embriodery techniques.
Kinime Igbokwe had her education in Nigeria and United Kingdom where she earned a Bsc degree in Geology and Msc Degree in Petroleum and Gas Engineering respectively.
During this time, she pursued her love for Fashion Designing volunteering at the Manchester Arts and Media Festival , attending workshops and business trainings in the United States while working with a high-end fashion brand in London where she gained international tailoring skills and business experience.
Kinime Ezekiel returned to Nigeria in 2015 and Launched the Fahion Brand LAKIMMY in 2017.
Known for using African / Nigerian indigineous and hand-woven fabrics Kimmy quickly became an icon in her field while rebirthing a range of African/Nigerian unique cultures ,contemporarizing and re-inventing the almost extinct traditional African /Nigerian fashion.
Kimmy as she is fondly called is well known for her extreme attention to detail, her expertise in handling a diverse range of fabrics as well as her ability to design for of a wide range of female body types using her unmatched virtual techniques.
She is celebrated in Nigeria for her patriotism and zeal in Nigerian and African culture at large. Her creative abilities combined with strong business acumen and vision has seen her win various accolades, awards, and recognition over the years.
