THE CONSULTATION PROCESS
A non-refundable consultation fee of 100,000 naira ($160) is required before consultation is scheduled.
The LAKIMMY bespoke process begins with a one-to-one consultation hosted the Creative Director, Mrs. Kimmy Igbokwe.
This could be physical (in-store) or Virtual especially for our international or out-of-state brides/Clients.
During the consultation session, the client and the Designer will discuss the purpose of the order and what combination of products and services best meets the client’s needs.
Our clients are advised to communicate all design ideas in detail and provide pictorial visuals of those ideas in order to ensure both parties understand what is to be achieved. The Designer will then offer her own design expertise which may enhance, complement or change the client’s design
DESIGN CREATION
LA KIMMY is a brand that prides in the originality and Uniqueness of her Designs. Hence, we do not copy or replicate clients style inspiration except these are our original designs.
We however advise that you allow at least 70% creative freedom in order that we serve you efficiently.
All designs must meet the Company’s Design Standard and quality before it is approved.
Garment Sketches & Illustrations.
All sketches delivered to clients remain the sole property of LAKIMMY therefore we reserve the right to use these sketches as it wishes.
MEASUREMENT SESSIONS
During the consultation session, measurements will be taken and the bride will also be granted exclusive access to the show room exhibiting the brand’s most recent hand-crafted masterpieces and an archive of carefully selected fabric samples.
For international and out-of-state brides/clients, a virtual consultation session as well as a virtual measurement session will be scheduled where the Creative Director /Design Assistant will assist you in taking accurate measurements.
FITTINGS
To achieve a perfect fit, the bride/Client will attend at least two fittings throughout the bespoke process. An initial toile will be made, which will help us achieve a perfect fit for your bespoke dress.
Depending on your budget and location, your initial toile will be shipped to you and a virtual fitting session will be arranged.
PRODUCTION TIME
The production time for an outfit is dependent on the complexity of style, type of fabric and expertise required.
This can vary from 3 months for less complex outfits and up to 6-9 months for more detailed and technical designs.
You are also advised to provide a delivery that is at least 4 weeks before your event for international order and 3 weeks before your event for orders within Nigeria.
FITTINGS AND ALTERATIONS
We advise that you make yourself available for at least one fitting session before the completion of the outfit.
This will allow us to ensure a perfect fit of the garment and make necessary last –minute changes before the completion.
In a situation where you are not able to show up for any fitting session, and there is need for alteration, we will be happy to make necessary alteration where needed if the garment can be sent back to us in due time.
If this is not possible because of your location, we advise that you seek the services of a good seamstress who can make the necessary alteration required. We also willing to work alongside your seamstress in order to ensure that the alteration is done correctly.
However, judging from our reviews over the years, 99% of our international and long – distant clients have had no major issues regarding their outfit in general.
EVENT STYLING SERVICES
We provide professional styling services if you desire to have our team on ground on the day of your event. You are expected to take charge of logistics required (transportation, security, feeding and accommodation) for the team that will be sent to you.
PAYMENT POLICY
Payment validates your order. A full payment is required for an order below 1.5 million naira ($2500) USD
While an 80% deposit is required for orders above 1.5 million naira. ($2500) USD
